How to Lock the iPad’s Screen Orientation

Do you find that your iPad sometimes has a mind of its own — flipping the screen between landscape and portrait orientations when you don’t want it to?  Well it’s very simple to lock the screen orientation.

Here is how:

1.  Rotate the iPad so it is in the desired orientation

2.  Double-click the home button (the button at the bottom of the iPad screen)  You will now see a bar slide up from the bottom of the screen

3.  Slide your finger from left to right along the bottom of the screen

4.  The icon all the way to the left is the orientation lock.  Touch it to lock the current orientation.  Once locked you will see a padlock icon.
